Interim report

A report card is one of employer created certificate on an employment relationship. Even semi-annual testimony in school are often referred to as an intermediate certificate.

Germany

An employee can request a so-called interim reference from the employer if this has been agreed in a collective bargaining or employment contract or if he has a legitimate interest in it. This can e.g. This may be the case, for example, if the employer has already given the prospect of dismissal , the employee wants to apply elsewhere, or he intends to attend a training or further education institution and admission is dependent on an interim reference, or if the company is sold. In the event of a transfer to another department, a change of supervisor or before a lengthy break from work (e.g. military or community service, parental leave), the employee can at least request an interim assessment.

The general principles of a job reference apply to the form and content of the interim reference . If a future departure date has already been determined, no interim certificate will be issued, but a "preliminary (final) certificate".

Austria

In Austria, an employee is entitled to a reference certificate at any time and he can also request an interim reference during the employment relationship without giving reasons, but at his own expense.

Switzerland

An employee can request a job reference at any time.
