San Antonio de Pichincha is a parroquia (political administrative district) in the canton of Quito in the Ecuadorian province of Pichincha .

The place is about 22 km north of the capital Quito . It is known for its location on the equator and the equator monument Mitad del Mundo located there - 240 m south of it to be precise . From 1736 , Charles Marie de La Condamine carried out geographic and astronomical surveys to determine the position of the equator on earth.

The area of ​​the parish is bordered by Pomasqui and Calderón to the south, Calacali to the west, San José de Minas to the north and Perucho, Puéllaro and the canton of Pedro Moncayo ( Tabacundo ) in the Pichincha province to the east .
