mLAN

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

music Local Area Network ( mLAN ) is a FireWire -based protocol for the transmission of multi-channel audio and MIDI data over a network. It includes intelligent connection management that allows a complex device network to be controlled without major changes to the cabling. To connect mLAN devices to a computer or a digital audio workstation , an OHCI compliant (or compatible) FireWire card is required. The protocol was originally developed by Yamaha Corporation and is currently licensed to companies.

The development of mLAN has been stopped. There are no drivers for current operating systems such as Windows 7/64 bit.
