final
SSW Innsbruck and Rapid faced each other in the 41st Austrian Cup final. As champions, the syndicate was the favorite, but had to accept an away goal in the first leg after a clear 2-0 lead thanks to Peter Koncilia shortly before the end. In the second leg a week later in Vienna, the Tyroleans relied on their defense and tried to keep a 0-0. This succeeded until a minute before the end when August Starek took a free kick. The ball went into the wall, the rebound crossed Starek to the middle, where Paul Pawlek headed past Koncilia into the goal. Rapid won the cup thanks to the away goals rule, among the congratulators was the Austria team with their green and white caps, they had successfully stopped in the championship for Innsbruck this year.
