2B (band)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

2B was a Portuguese band that consisted of Luciana Abreu and Rui Drumond. The duo represented Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 in Kiev ( Ukraine ). Abreu and Drumond have been pursuing their own musical careers since the competition.

Career

The duo was founded especially to represent Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev. The song Amar (“Lieben”), which contains both Portuguese and English-language lines, did not have to survive a preliminary decision , it was selected internally by the Portuguese broadcaster RTP .

In Kiev, the duo had to start in the semifinals, as Sofia Vitória did not make it to the final in 2004. There it only reached a 17th place and therefore could not qualify for the final on the following Saturday.

Drumond later won the second season of the casting show The Voice Portugal . He received a recording deal with Universal and released his solo debut Parte de Mim in 2014 .
