Maria Guinot

Maria Guinot (born June 20, 1945 in Lisbon , † November 3, 2018 in Parede ) was a Portuguese singer .

She released two first EPs in the late 1960s , followed by a long break. After participating in the Festival da Canção in 1981, where she took third place, she won the Portuguese preselection in 1984 and was therefore allowed to compete in the Concours Eurovision de la Chanson in Luxembourg in 1984 for her home country. With her self-written ballad Silêncio e tanta gente she reached number 11.
