history

The Kietz was first mentioned in the land book of Charles IV as Groben, vicus ibidem as Kietz . At that time it was a pertinence of Castle Beuthen. In 1450, no hooves were assigned in the settlement of Der Kytz , which indicates that it was created as a service settlement for the adjacent castle. There were eight heirs including a Schulzen . The residents did not operate their own agriculture, but supplied the castle with fish. This is also indicated by the mention from 1520. The Kietz was meanwhile in the sphere of influence of the Schlabrendorf family . There was a "farm with fishing in the usufruct of the woman from Schlaberndorf zu Siethen".

In 1624 eight fishermen lived in the village. They too were affected by the Thirty Years' War , because the statistics only recorded three heretics in 1653. In 1711 the number had risen to five inhabited Kietzers again; In 1745 there were six fishermen. In 1771 there were six gables (= residential houses) in the village.

In 1801, the statistics led to a fishing village with seven fishermen, a granny and ten campfire sites (= households). In 1840 there were already ten houses. In 1858 the village had grown to nine fishermen with five assistants. There were also eight servants. There were nine properties, all of which were comparatively small. Eight of them were between five and 30 acres in size and made up 159 acres. Another property was only four acres. In 1860 there were ten residential and 14 farm buildings in the fishing village.

At the time of the GDR the LPG Type I Am Kietz was founded in the village .
