Andrea Huber (born May 9, 1975 in Samedan ) is a former Swiss cross-country skier .

Career

Andrea Huber made her debut at the home World Cup in Ulrichen on January 9, 1993 over 10 km classic and finished 49th place over 10 km classic. In March she took part in the 1993 Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Harrachov . In the race over 15 km in free style she finished 40th and over 5 km in classic style she finished eighth. She also started at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 1994 , but could not improve compared to the previous year. In her third participation in the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 1995 , she managed to achieve her best result with place and started shortly afterwards at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1995 , finishing 56th and 61st in her individual races. It was followed by another participation in the Nordic Ski World Championships 1997 , where she achieved her best result with 17th place.

In Nagano , she started at the 1998 Winter Olympics in the race over 5 km classic (45th) and in the 4 × 5 km relay (4th). Three years later she became the Swiss sprint champion before taking part in the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City . She was able to win the bronze medal in the 4 × 5 km relay race . She achieved her best overall placings in the World Cup in the 1999/2000 season with 38th place in the overall World Cup and 24th place in the Sprint World Cup. In December 1999 in Engelberg she achieved her best individual placement with fourth place in the sprint. She completed her 81st and last individual World Cup race in January 2004 in Nové Město , which she finished in 48th place in the sprint. In the Continental Cup she won eleven times and also came second twice and third three times.
