Andrea Ranocchia (born February 16, 1988 in Assisi ) is an Italian football player who has been under contract with Inter Milan in Serie A since 2011 .

Career

society

Andrea Ranocchia began his career in the youth of Perugia Calcio . After its bankruptcy, he moved to AC Arezzo . He debuted on September 9, 2006 for the Tuscans in the series B . In his first season at Arezzo he was able to establish himself as a regular player, but could not prevent the following relegation to Serie C1 . In the following season, the young defender finally rose to become a top performer and one of the team's most important players. After he reached sixth place with Arezzo and missed the direct promotion, he transferred to CFC Genoa in Serie A in the summer of 2008 . Without ever being used at Genoa, he moved to second division AS Bari in November 2008 on loan . With the Apulians he was able to quickly play his way into the regular formation and at the end of the season managed to get promoted to Serie A. For the 2009/10 season, the loan deal with Genoa was extended by a year and Ranocchia formed a strong central defender with one year older Leonardo Bonucci -Duo before a knee injury knocked him out for the rest of the season.

For the 2010/11 season Ranocchia returned to Genoa, where he was a regular before signing a contract dated until 2015 with Inter Milan in January 2011 , which already held part of the transfer rights to the defender. After initially doing some good at Inter, he missed numerous games due to various injuries and fell into a form low. It was only in the 2012/13 season that Ranocchia was able to improve its performance and he was again regularly called up for the Italian national team, albeit mostly as a supplementary player.

In January 2016 Ranocchia moved to Sampdoria Genoa on loan until the end of the season .

In January 2017, Ranocchia Hull City was awarded.

National team

Andrea Ranocchia made her debut on August 21, 2007 in the game against France for the Italian U-21 selection . He later played three more games for the Italian U-20 national team and was appointed to the Italian team for the U-21 European Championship in Sweden . He played two games and failed with the Italians in the semifinals at the eventual tournament winner Germany. On November 17, 2010 Ranocchia debuted in the international match against Romania in the Italian national team . As a result, he was regularly used for the Squadra Azzurra until November 2011 .

The defender was also in the provisional squad of the Italian national team for the 2012 European Championship , but was then removed from the Italian EM squad like eight other players by national coach Cesare Prandelli . Almost a year after the European Championship, Ranocchia was back in the squad for Italy and was back on the field for the first time in a year and a half when he played in the friendly against San Marino on May 31, 2013 . As a result, Ranocchia was again a regular member of the squad. His last international match so far was against Germany on March 29, 2016 . He has not been nominated since then.

Suspicion of match fixing

Ranocchia was interrogated by the public prosecutor in Bari on August 3, 2012 in the wake of the Italian soccer betting scandal . Along with other former AS Bari players , for whom Ranocchia had played from 2008 to 2010, he was suspected of manipulating games from the 2009/10 season (other media reported games from the 2008/09 season ). According to Gazzetta dello Sport , Ranocchia was the only Bari player to refuse a bribe.
