Another Girl ( German  mutatis mutandis: "Another girl" ) is a song by British band The Beatles , the 1965 on their fifth studio album Help! has been published. It was composed by John Lennon and Paul McCartney and published under the author's name Lennon / McCartney .

background

Another Girl is mainly based on the musical ideas of Paul McCartney. McCartney wrote the song mostly during his vacation in Tunisia .

In the film Help! the Beatles play the song Another Girl on Balmoral Island , Bahamas , during the film scene the Beatles swap musical instruments and McCartney's bass is replaced by a young woman.

Another Girl was not included in the group's live repertoire in 1965.

Another Girl was recorded on February 15, 1965 in London's Abbey Road Studios (Studio 2) with producer George Martin . Norman Smith was the sound engineer for the recordings. The band recorded a take with overdubs by George Harrison and the next day by Paul McCartney. The recordings took place between 7 and 10:30 p.m., during which time large parts of Harrison's composition I Need You were recorded. The song Ticket to Ride was recorded in the morning .

The song was mixed on February 18, 1965 in mono and on February 23, 1965 in stereo .

On February 26th, 1987 the album Help! on CD in Europe (USA: July 21, 1987), in a digital new stereo mix made by George Martin in 1986.

On August 12, 1964, the ninth Beatles album Help! which includes Another Girl . In Great Britain the album was released on August 6, 1965, there it was the fifth Beatles album.

In the US Another Girl on the local tenth album Help! published on August 13, 1965.

On November 15, 1965, the single The Night Before / Another Girl was released in Japan .
