Any Time at All ( English analogously: any time ) is a song by British band The Beatles , in 1964 on their third album A Hard Day's Night was released. It was composed by John Lennon and Paul McCartney and published under the author's name Lennon / McCartney .

Any Time at All is mainly based on the musical ideas of John Lennon. The song was not used for the film A Hard Day's Night , although it is on the studio album of the same name.

Any Time at All was not included in the group's live repertoire in 1964.

On April 8, 1988, the handwritten text by John Lennon was sold at Sotheby's in London for £ 6,000.

Any Time at All was recorded on June 2, 1964 in London's Abbey Road Studios (Studio 2) with producer George Martin . Norman Smith was the sound engineer for the recordings. The band recorded a total of eleven takes , with the 11th take also being used for the final version. On June 2nd, the songs Things We Said Today and When I Get Home were recorded. The recordings began at 2:30 p.m. with Any Time at All , since the band was not satisfied after seven takes, the other two pieces were recorded first. Between 7 and 10 p.m., the Beatles then worked out and completed the music Any Time at All .

The song was mixed on June 22, 1964 in mono and stereo . On June 22, 1964, a special mono mix was also produced for the USA, in which the piano was mixed in the background. Another mono mix made on June 4th was not used.

On July 9, 1964, the fourth Beatles album A Hard Day's Night was released in Germany , here it was titled: Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! A Hard Day's Night that includes Any Time at All . In Great Britain the album was released on July 10, 1964, there it was the third Beatles album.

In the United States, Any Time at All was released on the local fifth album Something New on July 20, 1964.
