Arnoldus Detten, 45th Abbot of Marienfeld

Arnoldus Detten (born September 10, 1707 in Münster , † January 18, 1774 ) was a priest and abbot of the Marienfeld monastery .

Life

Together with three confreres, Detten entered the Marienfeld monastery on September 12, 1725 and made profession on October 28, 1726 . He was first chaplain of the Bishop of Agathonice (that is, of the abbot Ferdinandus Oesterhoff ) and on July 28, 1739 was appointed subprior of his own monastery. On January 23, 1744 he took up the position of dean in Harsewinkel . On 19 June 1769 he became the Marienfelder Convention for the 45th abbot of Marienfeld selected.
