The station Frankfurt (Main) Ostendstraße is an underground train -Haltepunkt the City Tunnel Frankfurt in the center of Frankfurt , district of Ostend . The station belongs to station category 3 and was opened in 1990 as part of the route extension to the south station . It consists of two tracks that are located on a central platform.
The escalators are located at the north exit around Hanauer Landstrasse and at the south exit on Ostendstrasse. The south exit leads to the new building of the European Central Bank .
The station was renovated around 2016, with the emergency telephones dismantled. On November 13, 2018, a youth who wanted to help a person who had fallen onto the track was hit by a train and killed. As a reminder, the name of the Ostendstrasse station was supplemented by Alptug-Sözen station .
Connection
The station is served by the S-Bahn lines S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6, S8 and S9. With the exception of S-Bahn line 7, all S-Bahn trains on the Rhein-Main S-Bahn run through this station. The tram lines 11 and 14 and the bus lines 31, n61, n62 and n63 also stop at Ostendstraße .
