The district of Gablonz an der Neisse ( Czech Okresní hejtmanství Jablonec nad Nisou, politický okres Jablonec nad Nisou ) was a political district in the Kingdom of Bohemia . The district included areas in the Central Bohemian Region . The seat of the district administration was the town of Gablonz on the Neisse ( Jablonec nad Nisou ). The area has belonged to the newly founded Czechoslovakia since 1918 and has been part of the Czech Republic since 1993 .

history

The modern, political districts of the Habsburg Monarchy were created in 1868 when the political and judicial administration was separated.

The district of Gablonz an der Neisse was formed in 1868 from the judicial districts of Tannwald and Gablonz an der Neisse .

In the district of Gablonz an der Neisse lived 52,428 people in 1869, the district comprising an area of ​​3.7 square miles and 22 parishes.

In 1890 the district housed 84,547 people who lived in an area of ​​210.22 km² or in 30 communities.

The district of Gablonz an der Neisse covered an area of ​​210.11 km² in 1910 and housed a population of 98,991 people. In 1910, 90,939 of the residents stated German as their colloquial language. Furthermore, 6,568 Czech speakers and 1,484 foreign speakers or foreigners lived in the district. Two judicial districts with a total of 31 communities and 33 cadastral communities belonged to the district.
