Hernals district
The Hernals district was a political district in Austria .
history
The district administration Hernals existed from 1868 to 1891. In 1890 the district was divided and the district administration Währing split off with most of the area. For the next two years, the district consisted only of the judicial districts of Hernals and Ottakring , which were the municipalities of Dornbach , Hernals , Neulerchenfeld , Neuwaldegg and Ottakring . In the course of the expansion of Vienna , the majority of the district was incorporated into Vienna, which is why the district ceased to exist on December 31, 1891. Areas in the Vienna Woods came to the political districts of Tulln and Hietzing-Umgebung . The majority of this area has also belonged to Vienna since 1938.
structure
The former district included:
- today's north-west of Vienna (districts 16-19, these are Ottakring, Hernals, Währing and Döbling , as well as parts of the 14th district)
- the following municipalities in today's Tulln district (names according to the current status): Judenau-Baumgarten , Klosterneuburg , Königstetten , Langenrohr , Muckendorf-Wipfing , St. Andrä-Wierter , Sieghartskirchen , Tulbing , Tulln and Zeiselmauer-Wolfpassing .
The district originally consisted of the judicial districts Hernals, Klosterneuburg and Tulln. In 1876, the Ottakring and Währing judicial districts were rebuilt.
While the judicial district of Hernals (at that time still with the current districts of Ottakring and Währing) in 1868 only made up about 12% of the area of the district, 61% of the population lived there.
