coat of arms

Coat of arms of the municipality of Biebergemünd

Blazon : In a wave cut divided by silver and red, above a six-spoke red wheel, below a golden mallet and a golden iron crossed diagonally.

Reason: The coat of arms of Biebergemünd symbolizes the different parts of the community. The upper half is based on the wheel symbol from the Mainz coat of arms , to which Wirtheim and Kassel belonged for a long time. The lower half symbolizes mining in Bieber. The arrangement of the elements of the coat of arms is optically similar to that of the old Bieber coat of arms. The colors red and gold are reminiscent of the county of Hanau.

The coat of arms of the municipality of Biebergemünd was approved by the Hessian Ministry of the Interior on October 19, 1979 , and it was designed by the Bad Nauheim heraldist Heinz Ritt .

flag

Together with the coat of arms, the municipality was also approved a flag, which is described as follows:

"Divided by red and gold, with the municipal coat of arms in the upper third."
