The California State Route 91 is a state highway in the US state of California . The State Route , which runs from Vermont Avenue in Torrance to Riverside , is one of the most important east-west connections in the greater Los Angeles area and is divided into the three sections Gardena , Artesia and Riverside Freeway . The length of the road is 104.61 kilometers.

On the Artesia Freeway took place at the 1984 Summer Olympics , the team time trial of the men in cycling instead.

The CA-91 was a section of US Highway 91 when it was still a long-distance route. This function is taken over by Interstate 15 today .
