history
Interstate 15 was built along US Highway 91 and replaced it by 1980 except for a short section in Utah and Idaho. In California there was an eastern bypass called I-15E near San Bernardino. This section has been known as Interstate 215 since 1982. Another bypass called I-15W existed in Idaho, which has been number 86 since the 1980s.
The last section of Interstate 15 opened as a bypass from Plymouth , Utah on November 20, 1990.
Since January 2009, a speed limit of 80 mph (130 km / h) has been in effect for test purposes on two sections in Utah between Nephi and Scipio and between Fillmore and Kanosh .
