Carmen Kass (born September 14, 1978 in Paide , Estonian SSR ) is an Estonian top model and a chess official .

Model career

At the age of 18, Carmen Kass left her hometown and moved to Paris . Since then she has appeared on numerous magazine covers, including Vogue ( France ), Elle ( Australia ), Image ( Great Britain ), Madame Figaro, Numéro France and Vogue ( USA ). She posed for many big fashion brands, including Marc Jacobs , Michael Kors , Calvin Klein , Ralph Lauren , Donna Karan , Dolce & Gabbana , Gucci , Prada , Versace , Fendi , Chanel , Chloé , Valentino , Louis Vuitton and Givenchy .

In 2003, a revealing advertising poster for the Gucci fashion company caused a sensation . It showed a partially exposed genital area with pubic hair shaved in a G shape . The advertising strategy behind it probably wanted to insinuate an association between the G-point and the G- initial of Gucci's company logo . Allegedly, the woman on the poster should be Carmen Kass. However, Kass never officially confirmed this; several sources refer to the Dane Louise Pedersen .

Kass, the daughter of a chess teacher and who learned the game as a child, became president of the Estonian Chess Federation in 2004. She uses her popularity to popularize the game of chess. She is a welcome guest of honor at numerous international tournaments . Since 2004 she has been in a relationship with the German chess grandmaster Eric Lobron .

Political commitment

In February 2004, she joined the conservative Res Publica party and ran for the European Parliament , but was not elected.
