Christina Kaltschewa
Christina Kaltschewa ( Bulgarian Христина Калчева ; born May 29, 1977 in Alexin , Russia ) is a Bulgarian athlete who specialized in the high jump . She started for Locomotive Plovdiv .
Athletic career
In 1999 she started at the World Indoor Championships in Maebashi, Japan . There she was the only athlete to jump 1.99 m and won the gold medal in front of the Czech Zuzana Hlavoňová and Tisha Waller from the USA with 1.96 m each.
At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 , she failed at the initial height of the qualification of 1.80 m.
She won two Bulgarian championships:
- 1997 (1.85 m)
- 1998 (1.93 m)
