Christoph Koehler

Christoph Köhler (born July 9, 1950 in Berlin ) is a German sociologist .

Köhler studied sociology, economics and political science at the University of Frankfurt as well as the University of Chicago and Wayne State University in Detroit . He completed his habilitation in 1993 and was visiting professor at the University of Málaga from 1992 to 1994 . From 1995 to 2016 he was a professor at the Institute for Sociology at the University of Jena . His work focuses on the structure and dynamics of the labor market, development tendencies of employment stability and employment risks in East and West Germany, company employment systems and labor market segmentation in international comparison, labor market flexibility, employment risks and social security. Christoph Köhler was a (student) activist in the 68s.
