The 2012 Critics' Choice Television Awards were presented by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association (BTJA) on June 18, 2012 at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills , California . The nominations were announced on June 5, 2012. Programs that were broadcast in prime time in the period from June 1, 2011 to May 31, 2012 were taken into account .

Regardless of the actual presentation, the awards in the Most Promising New Series category (in the original Most Exciting New Series ) were presented on June 17, 2012 .
