Daily Terror was a German punk band from Braunschweig that was well known in the punk scene ; she toured among others in France and the Czech Republic .

history

Daily Terror emerged in 1980 from the Braunschweig punk band Bombed Bodies . A first single appeared on the Hanoverian label No Fun Records , with which the musicians soon fell out. The band switched to the Berlin label Aggressive Rockproduktionen . In 1982 she released the LP “ Schmutzige Zeiten” and performed at the Chaostage in Hanover , which made her very popular in the punk scene . In 1984 her second album Aufrecht was released .

In 1985 the EP Feeling and Hardness was released, followed by the album Breakthrough the following year . After switching to the AM Music label , the maxi-single Deutsches Bier and the albums Abrechnung and Apokalypse were released. In 1994 there was another change to the Duisburg label Impact Records . In the same year the live recording Gnadenlos ... Live and the double single Live in Meran with the Duisburg colleagues Dödelhaie were released.

After Teumer had become the father of a daughter in 1996, the album Krawall 2000 was released in 1997 and the live album Andere Zeiten in 1999 . This was followed in 2002 by the album Lebenswut , which, in addition to the CD version, was released as a picture vinyl version limited to 500 copies on the Saxon label Psycho T Records .

In 2006 the former line-up separated from their singer and founded a new band called Daily Terrorists , which now only includes the two ex-guitarists Uwe Golz and Lutz Müller. Teumer was still active with Daily Terror. Guitarist Ecki Vemmer from the punk band Moiterei , drummer Daniel Laudahn (formerly with Such a Surge ) and bassist Jenny Simic became new members . The last concert took place in the chemical factory in Dresden. All musicians from the last line-up are active at Moiterei today.

Pedder Teumer died on April 11, 2009 of a brain tumor as a result of lung cancer . Although no official breakup of Daily Terror has been announced, there has been no further activity under that name following the death of their frontman.

controversy

Daily Terror was controversial in the early 1980s, as Teumer did not clearly distance himself from right-wing extremist parts of the skinhead scene and had some contacts with people from this scene. In the fanzine "Force of hate" in 1986, Teumer said: "Musically, I think Skrewdriver and Redskins are good, [...] Personally, however, Skrewdriver are much closer to me than the Redskins, who sometimes make statements that border on nonsense." 1987 Teumer attended a concert at which the right-wing rock band Endstufe played. Later, Teumer distanced himself from this scene and in 1993 produced the title “Verstörte Kids” with the band, which is a clear statement against right-wing extremist violence and the attitudes associated with it. (First published on the sampler Schlachtrufe BRD III in spring 1994.)
