The 48th Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2018 took place on February 10, 2018 in Aalborg and was the Danish preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon ( Portugal ). It was the seventh time that Aalborg had made the preliminary round. As in 2017 , the show was moderated by Annette Heick and Johannes Nymark.

There were also a few changes in the Danish preliminary round in 2018. Among other things, the window for submitting contributions was opened on July 4, 2017 and was no longer closed. All entries included by September 15, 2017 were potential titles for 2018. Entries submitted thereafter are potential titles for 2019. The show's producer has also been changed. Before that, Cutfather was the producer, from 2018 Mads Engaard took over the job. Another change was that the short films before a performance were replaced by interviews with the participants after the performance. Otherwise ten contributions appeared in one show, three of which reached the superfinal, in which the winner was decided. The result in both rounds was determined 50% by a jury and 50% by televoting.

Choice of contribution

From July 4 to September 15, 2017, composers had the opportunity to submit a contribution to DR. Foreign composers were also allowed to participate. However, the singer had to show a connection to Denmark. The selection process was the same as in 2017: the producer Mads Engaard and a 50-member jury made up of experts from the music industry, members of the MelodiGrandPrixFans.dk fan club and a representative selection of television viewers selected the ten participants for the 2018 Dansk Melodi Grand Prix .

Attendees

On January 22, 2018, the ten performers were presented in the Copenhagen Concert Hall . Ditte Marie took part in the DMGP in 2011 and 2012 , while Albin Fredy took part in the DMGP in 2013 . However, the songs were only released on February 5, 2018.
