German Skeleton Championship 2006
The 40th German Skeleton Championship 2006 was held on March 7, 2006 on the bobsleigh and toboggan run in Winterberg . There was one event for women and one for men. Both were held in two runs. Gustav Born acted as race director, the jury consisted of Wolfgang Strauss, national coach Jens Müller and state sports warden Dieter Padberg.

There were a total of 25 participants at the start. As expected, all five members of the national squad started on the first five places. Florian Grassl , third in the previous year and 2004 champion, did not start. The superior champion was Sebastian Haupt for the first time with best times in both races.

There were a total of 24 participants at the start, national team member Monique Riekewald , champion from 2001, did not take part. Kerstin Jürgens became German champion for the second time after 2004, Anja Huber immediately became runner-up at her first start at German championships. Kati Klinzing came in surprisingly third . Record champions Steffi Jacob and Diana Sartor last competed at national championships and ended their careers after the Olympic season.
