Devid Striesow (born October 1, 1973 in Bergen auf Rügen , GDR ) is a German actor .

Life

Origin and education

Devid Striesow was born in 1973 on the island of Rügen as the son of an electrician and an infant and pediatric nurse. According to Striesow, the unusual spelling of his name goes back to a mistake made by his parents. They wanted the name "David" to be pronounced in English. He grew up in Rostock . In his youth he played in the state youth orchestra.

After finishing school, he moved to Berlin to begin an apprenticeship as a goldsmith . The goldsmith's business went bankrupt before he could start his apprenticeship. The fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 changed his life plans so that he went back to school to do his Abitur. First he studied music. After his community service he applied to the "Ernst Busch" Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . His senior class in 1999 included Lars Eidinger , Uwe Fischer , Maria Simon , Nina Hoss , Mark Waschke and Fritzi Haberlandt .

Since 1999 he has worked as a theater actor at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg and at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus . The collaboration with the director Jürgen Gosch began in Düsseldorf . Striesow played in his productions Käthchen von Heilbronn , Prince Friedrich von Homburg or the battle of Fehrbellin , Hamlet and Wlas in Maxim Gorki's summer guests . For the role of Wlas , he was awarded the Alfred Kerr Prize in 2004 and received the award for Best Young Actor of the Year from Theater heute magazine . From January 2013 to January 2019 Striesow played chief inspector Jens Stellbrink in the crime series Tatort for Saarländischer Rundfunk . Elisabeth Brück played his colleague, Commissioner Lisa Marx .

In Andreas Kleinert's TV psychodrama The Woman from Before (2013), which is based on the play of the same name by Roland Schimmelpfennig , he embodied the role of Frank, who was his childhood sweetheart Romy ( Ursina Lardi ) after 24 years - where he was actually in Canada wanted to start a new life - met again for the first time. Devid Striesow was in a relationship with actress Maria Simon in the 1990s . From this relationship comes a son, Ludwig Simon (* 1996), who is now also an actor. Three other children (* 2006, 2010 and 2012) come from the marriage to Francine from Cameroon . In 2015 the couple split. In 2016 it became known that Striesow and his manager Ines Ganzberger are a couple. The couple married in December 2018. The two have a son (* 2016). Devid Striesow lives in the Uckermark .
