The Three Little Orphans is a 1935 American animated short film directed by David Hand .

action

Three small kittens are released near a large villa in winter. The three of them enter the house and first explore the kitchen. The first kitten falls into a cake, the second gets caught in a glass bottle, and the third knocks over a pepper shaker and has to sneeze all the time. In the end, a lot of dishes break. The three kittens also wreak havoc in the nursery.

The black kitten has discovered a feather there that it wants to catch. It reaches the living room via the kitchen and follows the pen down to the piano . First it runs down the keys to catch the spring and then unintentionally activates the slot machine. The piano begins playing Kitten on the Keys by Zez Confrey . The other two kittens have now also found themselves at the piano and will soon be carried on the automatically moving keys. After the quick play mode is accidentally activated, the chaos begins and the kittens finally flee, again breaking some of the china . The African-American housemaid finally finds the three and is about to throw them out when the little daughter of the house takes the kittens.

In the end, all three kittens, disguised as babies, sit in the nursery and suckle on feeding bottles .
