Eckhard Preuss

Eckhard F. Preuß (born July 7, 1961 in Minden , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German actor , director and author .

Life

Preuss' family runs the East Westphalian supermarket chain WEZ , his brother is the company's managing director. After three years of acting lessons, Preuss began his career at the Munich Pathos Transport Theater , which quickly helped the former competitive athlete to numerous engagements at other renowned theaters and to his first film role. His feature film debut was followed by numerous film and television productions.

He became known to a wide audience through the role of "Uwe Baumann" in the ARD early evening series Marienhof , which he played from October 1992 to January 1995.

In 1997 Matthias Lehmann's short film Pas de deux , in which Preuss played the role of "Lehmi", received several awards. He received 1st prize at the Exground Festival Wiesbaden , the audience prize at the Dresden International Film Festival and 1st prize at the FilmKunstFest Schwerin . Later Preuss wrote the screenplay for the feature film Doppelpack , the sequel to Pas de deux, together with Matthias Lehmann .

He lives in the Glockenbachviertel in Munich.
