The 95th World Figure Skating Championships took place from March 14th to 20th, 2005 in the Luzhniki Sports Palace in Moscow ( Russia ).
The new point system was used for the first time. Because of the large number of participants, the starting field in the individual competitions was again divided into groups A and B.
