Ellen Wilson
Ellen Wilson (born May 15, 1860 in Savannah , Georgia as Ellen Louise Axson , † August 6, 1914 in the White House , Washington, DC ) was the first wife of US President Woodrow Wilson and the first lady of the US from 1913 to her death.
Her parents were Reverend Samuel Edward Axson (1836-1884) and Margaret Jane Hoyt (1831-1881). The oldest of four children, she grew up in Rome, Georgia.
Ellen and Woodrow, who had known each other since childhood, married on June 24, 1885. They had three children: Margaret Woodrow Wilson (1886–1944), Jessie Woodrow Wilson (1887–1933) and Eleanor Randolph Wilson (1889–1967) .
After her death, Woodrow married Edith Bolling Galt in 1915 .
