Emanuel Hurwitz

Emanuel Hurwitz (born February 21, 1935 ) is a Swiss psychiatrist , psychotherapist , publicist and politician ( SP ).

From 1979 to 1984 Hurwitz was the SP representative in the Zurich Cantonal Council . In 1984 he resigned from the party and the cantonal council in protest against one - sided anti-Israeli tendencies. In his partly autobiographical book Bocksfuss, Schwanz und Hörner (Nagel and Kimche, 1986), he also provides an analysis of European anti-Semitism of the 19th century. In 1991 he published his second book under the title Jews and Christians . Hurwitz lives in Zurich .
