Eternal table of the GDR league
The eternal table of the GDR Oberliga is a statistical summary of all games in the GDR Oberliga and NOFV Oberliga in football from 1949 to 1991. The eternal table is based on the 2-point rule , according to which all seasons were played. There can be two reasons for the odd number of games played at many clubs: On the one hand, the triple round of the 1961/62 season , on the other hand, if the points are tied, playoffs for championship or relegation. However, the 1955 transition round was not taken into account.
Although the BFC Dynamo is the record champions in the league with 10 championships, the FC Carl Zeiss Jena leads the all-time table. A total of 44 clubs played in the GDR major league.
In the following, the clubs are first named by the club name they wore in the major league. Furthermore, all other names are listed under which the respective club has played in the major league. Name changes below the Oberliga or after the integration of the GDR teams into the West German leagues are not taken into account. In the last column the current league of clubs and the current club names are listed.

Footnotes

↑ a b Under the two Leipzig soccer teams 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig and BSG Chemie Leipzig , several soccer teams have been grouped together for the sake of clarity, which cannot be clearly identified as their predecessors.
As part of a reorganization of Leipzig football, the two football sections of the company sports associations BSG Chemie Leipzig and BSG Einheit Ost , which had previously been represented in the major league, were dissolved and their members were delegated to the newly founded sports clubs SC Lokomotive Leipzig and SC Rotation Leipzig before the 1954/55 season . Although the two new clubs received some of the training grounds and also the top division places of the old clubs, they are not direct successors. In another reform, the SC Lokomotive and the SC Rotation were dissolved again before the 1963/64 season and transferred to the new clubs BSG Chemie Leipzig and SC Leipzig (which later became the 1. FC Lokomotive). Again, as in 1954, there were no direct successor associations. In spring 1963, the SC Lokomotive and SC Rotation associations were merged to form SC Leipzig based on a DTSB resolution . The soccer department of SC Leipzig was spun off on January 20, 1966 and was henceforth called 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig .
- ↑ a b After the 8th matchday of the 1954/55 season , the team from BSG Empor Lauter was delegated to SC Empor Rostock (later Hansa Rostock ). The 8 games are attributed to Rostock.
- ^ A b c Chemie Leipzig and Chemie Böhlen merged before the 1990/91 season to form FC Sachsen Leipzig
- ↑ a b c d Including 3 play-offs (1984: Union - Chemie Leipzig 1: 1, 1: 2, 1950: Altenburg - Wismar 3: 2)
