Location of the municipality of Fiefbergen in the district of Plön | ||
Fiefbergen is a municipality in the Plön district in Schleswig-Holstein on the Wagrien peninsula . The community consists only of the main town Fiefbergen and has no other districts.
history
Fiefbergen was officially mentioned for the first time in 1286, but it most likely originated as early as 1247. The name is said to come from five mountains that surround the village. But these cannot be recognized. Perhaps when it was founded, there were still Wendish sacrificial altars in five places, which earlier existed in large numbers. In old records the name can also be found as Vyffbergen , Viffbergen or Viebargen . Fiefbergen was originally a round village .
