The St. Peter-Ording airfield is the airfield of the Schleswig-Holstein North Sea spa and sulfur bath St. Peter-Ording . Here are allowed engine aircraft , motor gliders , ultralight aircraft , as well as helicopter landing kg up to 5700th On the 11 hectare site are u. a. a gas station with aviation fuel as well as a hangar and a tower. There are parking spaces, but only in limited numbers.

In 2013 and 2014 the entire airfield was completely renovated. These measures included repairing the hangars as well as modernizing the tower and refurbishing the airport restaurant. There were also new parking areas for aircraft. It reopened on April 1, 2015.

A rescue helicopter from Northern HeliCopter GmbH has been stationed at the airfield since January 20, 2014. This is primarily responsible for the construction sites of the offshore wind turbines in the German Bight, but can also be requested for general searches. The rescue helicopter is of the Aérospatiale SA 365 type . The crew of this rescue helicopter consists of five people per shift and lives on the airfield while on standby.

Airlines and Destinations

The airline Privateways , which was dissolved in 2019, operated flights to and from Wilhelmshaven Airport and Sylt Airport under the brand name Yourways . Taxi and sightseeing flights to Helgoland , Westerland or Wyk auf Föhr are available on request . Charter flights with a Cessna are also available.
