The airfield Wahlstedt is a special airfield in Segeberg . It has an 800 meter long and 30 meter wide grass runway and is approved for gliders , motor gliders , microlights and powered aircraft with a maximum take-off weight of up to two tons and for helicopters with a maximum take-off weight of up to 5.7 tons.
Incidents
- On July 28, 2002, a Coopavia CP301A touched the treetops while approaching and hit the tracks of a disused railway line . The 75-year-old pilot and his 35-year-old passenger were seriously injured in the accident.
- On May 2, 2015, a Schempp-Hirth Nimbus glider , which had set off from the airfield on a long-haul flight, crashed near Bad Münder am Deister and was completely destroyed in the process. The 67-year-old pilot was killed.
