Franz Retz
Franz Retz (born September 13, 1673 in Prague , † November 19, 1750 in Rome ) was the 15th general of the Societas Jesu .
Life
After preparatory studies in Prague, he entered the order in 1689. After that, while he was finishing his own studies, he was employed in the teaching post at various educational institutions of his order and for teaching young clerics. Later he became a missionary and pulpit speaker, where he came to foreign countries and filled various positions in his order.
When the 14th General Michelangelo Tamburini died on February 28, 1730 , the General Assembly elected Retz as its 15th general on March 7 of the same year.
Franz Retz died on November 19, 1750 in Rome at the age of 77 .
