Municipal Council (Bern)

The meetings of the Bern municipal council take place in the Erlacherhof (main facade)

The Bern City Council is the executive body of the city of Bern .

It consists of five full-time members, who are elected in a proportional way by the residents of the city of Bern who are entitled to vote for four years and each lead a directorate of the city administration. The chairman of the municipal council is the city ​​president , who is elected by the residents in the majority . The municipal council meets weekly at the Erlacherhof . The town clerk is elected by the local council.
