The Gafsa Governorate ( Arabic ولاية قفصة, DMG Wilāyat Qafṣa ) is one of the 24 governorates of Tunisia .
It is in the center of the country and borders Algeria to the west . It has an area of 7,807 km² and 341,600 inhabitants. The capital is Gafsa of the same name .
