Häselgehr is a municipality with 676 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Reutte district in Tyrol ( Austria ). The community is located in the judicial district of Reutte . The municipality has been a member of the Tyrol Climate Alliance since 2010 .

geography

Häselgehr is located in the upper Lech Valley and is made up of several loosely populated hamlets. The place was first mentioned in 1358 as Hesligeren ("hazel-covered mitts" - wedge-shaped corridor). The Heuberg near Häselgehr , which is farmed up to the ridge with mountain mowers, was often the cause of avalanche disasters in the past , which is why the community is now protected by one of the largest avalanche barriers in Central Europe. In Häselgehr the road branches off to Gramais , the smallest municipality in Austria, seven kilometers away .
