Kaisers is a municipality with 75 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Reutte district in Tyrol ( Austria ). The community is located in the judicial district of Reutte .

geography

The community is located in a side valley of the Lech Valley at 1,518 meters.

history

This place was founded in the 14th century by emigrants from the Stanzertal and until 1938 belonged to the municipality of Pettneu am Arlberg and thus to the district of Landeck . The community of Pettneu still has the Almrecht in Kaisers today . The municipality of Kaisers is the most sparsely populated municipality in Austria, with less than one inhabitant per km².

Kaisers achieved notoriety after the National Council election in Austria in 2002 , when the ÖVP received 100% of the vote. Of the 55 citizens entitled to vote, 45 cast their vote, one of which was invalid and the others were in favor of the Austrian People's Party.

Culture and sights

A former inn a little above the church was bought by auction in 1936 by the Stuttgart section of the German Alpine Club and has since been operated as an edelweiss house .
