Hannes Blaschke

Johannes Blaschke (born July 20, 1960 ) is a German triathlete and triathlon organizer.

Career

After a few years as a football player in the Bavarian League and as a cyclist in the A-Amateur class, Blaschke found his way to endurance triathlon in 1983 and started at the Allgäu Triathlon .

1984 saw the first participation in the Ironman Hawaii . Blaschke was able to achieve his first German success there as an athlete and triathlete from the very beginning. He landed in Hawaii in 1985 as the first German in the top ten and achieved fourth place. As a breaststroke member of the German Olympic team in 1968, which also finished fourth in 1986 , he, along with Klaus Barth , held the best placement for a German in Hawaii for eight years. He took part in this competition five times. In 1989 he finished second at Ultraman Hawaii .

After completing his teaching degree, Blaschke decided to work in the travel industry and founded the company Hannes-Hawaii-Tours . In 2013 he announced that he would take over the management of the Allgäu Triathlon together with Christoph Fürleger and other partners as a successor to German Altenried .
