Hermann Andersen (born May 21, 1901 in Kiel ; † September 13, 1989 ) was a German politician ( FDP ) and Economics Minister of Schleswig-Holstein from 1950 to 1952 .

Hermann Andersen comes from an entrepreneurial family in Kiel. His father Christian Andersen was President of the Kiel Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 1912 to 1928. He studied law in Kiel , Freiburg im Breisgau and Göttingen and obtained his doctorate in 1923. jur. In 1925 he took over the management of the family business, an iron and steel construction company founded in 1870 for building construction and bridge construction and a machine factory in Lübeck. In addition to his local prominence, he gained fame in the German steel construction industry and made a name for himself as a labor judge. From May 1933 he was a member of the SS . From 1937 Andersen belonged to the NSDAP , having been a squad leader of the general SA from 1934 .

After the Second World War, Andersen joined the FDP, from 1950 to 1954 he was a member of the state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein . He represented the constituency of Kiel-West in parliament. On September 5, 1950, he was appointed Minister of Economics, Construction and Transport to the state government of Schleswig-Holstein led by Prime Minister Walter Bartram (in this context the Association of Jewish Refugees reported in October on Andersen's SS membership). After Bartram's resignation, on June 25, 1951, Andersen took over the office of Minister for Economics and Transport in the government now headed by Friedrich Wilhelm Lübke . In addition, he was briefly from June 25 to July 27, 1951 acting minister for labor, social affairs and displaced persons. On January 4, 1952, Andersen resigned from the state government.
