Hinrich Enderlein

Hinrich Enderlein (born May 9, 1941 in Luckenwalde ) is a German politician of the FDP .

Life

Enderlein studied history, political science and Slavic studies at the universities of Marburg and Tübingen from 1962 to 1967 . Between 1970 and 1973 he worked as a research assistant at the Tübingen Eastern Europe Institute.

Enderlein was employed in a managerial position at the Roland Ernst group from 1994 to 1997 and was then managing director of Technologie-GmbH Semicon in Teltow for several years.

politics

Enderlein also became politically active in the early 1970s and in 1972 he was elected to the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg , to which he belonged for four legislative periods until 1988, most recently from 1985 to 1988 as chairman of the FDP / DVP parliamentary group.

After German reunification , he moved to the new federal states and was appointed Minister for Science, Research and Culture in Brandenburg on November 1, 1990 by Manfred Stolpe (SPD) . He held this office until 1994, and he was responsible for building up the scientific landscape in Brandenburg and founded three universities, five technical colleges and a number of non-university institutes.

As the top candidate of the FDP, he did not succeed in re-entering the state parliament in 1994. After the lost state elections, he took over the state chairmanship of the FDP from Detlev Paepke . Even in the 1999 state election, the FDP failed with him as the top candidate in the state parliament. He then resigned together with the rest of the state executive. From 1994 to 2006 he was chairman of the radio council of Deutschlandradios . Enderlein was elected honorary chairman of the FDP Brandenburg in 2006.

Others

Enderlein is u. a. Chairman of the Brandenburg Cultural Association and the sponsoring association of the Kleist Museum in Frankfurt (Oder). From 2001 to 2017 he was chairman of the Association of Music and Art Schools Brandenburg eV and has been honorary chairman since 2017. Since 1999 he has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom . In addition, from 2015 to 2019 he was chairman of the foundation's selection committee for gifted students.

He lives in Kleinmachnow and has three children. His son is the political scientist Henrik Enderlein .
