The Israeli men's national ice hockey team is ranked 34th in the IIHF world rankings after the 2017 World Cup and plays in Division II at the World Cup . The national team is organized by the Israel Ice Hockey Association .

In 1992 the team took part in an ice hockey world championship for the first time , but the team has not yet won a medal. The Israeli national team has never qualified for the Olympic Games . The team experienced an irony of fate at the 1996 World Cup : At first, the team was only able to qualify for the D-World Cup because the defeats in the qualifying tournament against opponents Greece resulted in 5-0 victories due to the use of unauthorized players on the Greek side at the green table were converted, but at the D-WM, Israel met the same fate. It lost the preliminary round matches against Bulgaria and Belgium at the green table with 0: 5, because with the Russia-Israelis Ariel Ben-Youri and Alex Vital, two players who were not eligible to play were used.

The team's greatest success so far was promotion to World Cup Division I in 2005 , from which it had to relegate after only one tournament. At the 2010 World Cup , after five defeats, the team finished last in Group B of Division II, which was held in Narva , and was relegated to the bottom division of the World Cup for the first time in ten years. However, in the following year the Israelis succeeded in being promoted back to Division II.
