Jadakiss (born May 27, 1975 in Yonkers , New York ; actually Jason Phillips ) is an American rapper .

Career

The East Coast rapper founded the rap formation The LOX and the D-Block label with Sheek Louch and Styles P. He made public appearances for the first time with the same formation. The LOX debut album Money, Power & Respect was released on August 13, 1998 on Bad Boy Records and achieved gold status. Due to a lack of support from the P. Diddy- led label, however, after only one decoupling it came to a break and The LOX switched to Ruff Ryder's Entertainment . There was an ongoing dispute between P. Diddy and The LOX over the group’s marketing rights, of which P. Diddy owned 50 percent.

In the following years , Jadakiss mainly appeared on mix tapes . In 2001 he finally released his solo debut Kiss Tha Game Goodbye , which went gold . In 2004, Kiss of Death followed , which immediately went to number 1 on the American Billboard charts . Both albums were released on Ruff Ryder's Entertainment.

Jadakiss gained by the beef with 50 Cent , of him on his album track Piggy Bank dissed had more notoriety. The diss came about because Jadakiss previously did the track New York with Ja Rule , which is hostile to 50 Cent. At the beginning of 2014, he and 50 added their beef to the 50 Cent (Thisis50.com) site. 50 Cent has stated that he actually has no problem with Jadakiss.

Jadakiss has been under contract with Def Jam Records since late 2007. In April 2009 the third solo album was released under the name The Last Kiss .

His fourth solo album was titled Top 5 Dead or Alive , was released in November 2015 and included guest contributions from Styles P, Akon , Lil Wayne and Puff Daddy , among others .

After a new LOX album in 2016 ( Filthy America ... It's Beautiful ), Jadakiss released the collaboration album Friday on Elm Street with Fabolous in 2017 , which also featured features by Yo Gotti , Future , French Montana , Jeezy and others are.
