Jonas Lanier (born February 24, 1982 in Berlin ) is a German ice hockey player who was last under contract with the SERC Wild Wings from the 2nd Bundesliga . Earlier career stations included the Krefeld Penguins from the German Ice Hockey League , with whom he won the German championship in the 2002/03 season .

Career

Lanier began his career in 2000 with the Berlin Capitals , with whom he was henceforth active in the German Ice Hockey League. While he was still regularly used in the regional league with the Berlin Young Capitals in the first season, the 2000/01 season , he was part of the DEL Club's regular squad in the following season. After the Berlin Capitals had to file for bankruptcy at the end of the 2001/02 season , the German left the club and joined the then league rivals, the Krefeld Penguins. With the KEV he was able to win the German championship in 2003 when the club prevailed against the Kölner Haie in the play-off final . The right-shooter stayed with the penguins until 2004.

This was followed by a short interlude with the Duisburger Füchsen , which only lasted a few months before he received a contract offer from the Hannover Scorpions in the 2004/05 season . Lanier decided on the contract and switched back to the German Ice Hockey League. Those responsible for the Scorpions provided the then 22-year-old with a sponsorship license with which he was also entitled to play for the cooperation partner, REV Bremerhaven. In early November 2007, the German suffered a syndrome tear during a home game against the Iserlohn Roosters and had to take a three-month break. After he had recovered from his injury, he first played several games for REV Bremerhaven before moving back to the Hanoverian squad.

At the end of the 2007/08 season , the management of the Hannover Scorpions decided to hand over the offensive player permanently to REV Bremerhaven, as the then 25-year-old was too old to be given a sponsorship license again.

International

Lanier was nominated in 2000 and 2002 for the German junior national team with which he took part in the A World Cup in Switzerland and the B World Cup in Austria. While he was able to secure relegation with the U-18 team in 2000, he rose to the A-World Cup with the U-20 national team in 2002.
