Career

Namigata has been a professional tennis player since 2000. The right-hander has not yet won a title on the WTA Tour . In 2014 she won the WTA Challenger in Nanchang in doubles with Chuang Chia-jung . In 2008 Namigata was in the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time at Wimbledon ; she failed with her doubles partner Ayumi Morita in round one. With her compatriot, she achieved the greatest success of her career so far at the WTA tournament in Bangkok , when they reached the final against the Chinese Sun Tiantian and Yan Zi . However, they could not compete in the final.

In 2011 Namigata played five games, including three singles, for the Japanese Fed Cup team , all of which they won.
