The core heating Gorki ( Russian Горьковская атомная станция теплоснабжения [ ], also GAST ) should be in the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast about 2 the city limits of kilometers southeast Nizhny Novgorod (formerly Gorky) arise and some of the eastern districts with district heating supply. However, the project was discontinued a few years after construction began.
history
Construction of the Gorki core heating plant, planned in 1980, began in 1983. It was to be a twin construction with two AST reactors . Due to public protests, the plant could not be completed after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster (1986). Shortly after the referendum in Voronezh regarding the Voronezh nuclear heating plant under construction , the construction project was finally stopped at the end of the 1980s. Another reason was that the city already had enough heating capacity. The heating plant components that were no longer required were used for the nuclear reactors of the Tomsk nuclear facility . The building is currently rented to a large number of companies.
Data of the reactor blocks
