Kitty Kat (born January 22, 1982 in East Berlin ; bourgeois Katharina Löwel ) is a German rapper .

biography

Kitty Kat was born in East Berlin . Her parents fled to West Germany with her and her sister in 1986. There they settled in Augsburg . After completing secondary school, she completed an apprenticeship as a banker in Munich . At 21 she went back to Berlin, where she was discovered by Aggro Berlin producer Paul NZA - at the instigation of the rapper Fler . She was featured on several Aggro Berlin releases between 2006 and the end of the label in 2009. She got three features on Sido's 2006 album Ich . On the side she worked in Berlin for an advertising agency, was then unemployed for over six months until she got a contract with Aggro Berlin, which provided for a solo album, which did not materialize. Her appearance was initially kept secret, neither photos nor interviews of her were published. Since the release of the sampler Aggro Anti Ansage Nr. 8 in 2008, she has also appeared in public.

She was featured on the Juice CD for issue 84 with the song Meine Zeit . Kitty Kat is involved in five songs on Sido's album Ich und meine Maske , which was released in 2008 , from which Mov your ass was released as a single and reached number 17 in the German single charts. She was also heard on the solo albums by Tony D and B-Tight . She has also published Brooke Skillz under the alter ego .

As a solo artist, she released the online single Bitchfresse (LMS) at the end of July 2009 . Braves Mädchen was announced as the first official single . Your solo album Miyo! was released on September 4, 2009 by Universal Music. The album has 14 songs with a playing time of about 50 minutes. Guest appearances by Sido and Cassandra Steen are included. Kitty Kat took over the production herself.

On March 18, 2011, Universal Music released the second solo album Kitty Kats, Pink Mafia . The 16 songs include collaborations with Xavier Naidoo , Megaloh and other artists. There is no guest contribution by other, former Aggro Berlin artists. At the end of the year she worked as a composer for Glasperlenspiel and worked a. a. on the single friendship with, which made it into the charts in 2012. In 2013 she took part in the Glasperlenspiel hit Never Forget , which was the first time her single reached the top 10 of the German single charts.

On March 30, 2012, Kitty Kat brought out the first release on her own label Deinemama Records with the Dirty Mixtape . In 2013, the rapper was seen on the reality show Celebrity Wife Swap , where she was allowed to live the life of Zachi Noy in Israel for a week .

In December 2013 the video for the track Na and was released. In February 2014, the single was released one under million . It is the first release from Kitty Kat's third album, which was released in March 2014 under the title Kattitude . On September 20, 2014, she entered the Bundesvision Song Contest 2014 in Göttingen with the song Hochhaus für Brandenburg . She finished in shared 15th place.

In 2018, Kitty Kat reached the German single charts again in her work as a writer for Glasperlenspiel. With the new Glasperlenspiel single Royals & Kings , the duo's third single, on which Kitty Kat co-wrote, reached the charts.
