Kodi Smit-McPhee (born June 13, 1996 ) is an Australian actor .

biography

Kodi Smit-McPhee comes from a family of actors; his father Andy McPhee ( December Boys ) and his sister Sianoa Smit-McPhee are also active as actors.

Smit-McPhee is best known for his roles in Under the Australian Sun with Eric Bana and Franka Potente and in The Road with Viggo Mortensen . He received good reviews for both roles. This was followed by Chloë Grace Moretz and Richard Jenkins, the lead role of Owen in the horror film Let Me In , a remake of the Swedish film So dark the night .

In September 2010, Kodi Smit-McPhee was nominated for the Scream Award in the Breakout Performance - Male category for his performance in The Road . In December 2010, Smit-McPhee was nominated again for a Critics' Choice Movie Award in the “Best Young Actor” category, alongside his colleague Chloë Moretz for Let Me In . In addition to him, Jennifer Lawrence and Elle Fanning were also nominated. True Grit actress Hailee Steinfeld received the award, however. In 2013 he played the role of Benvolio, Romeo's cousin, in a new film adaptation of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet . In February 2015, he was hired for the role of the superhero Nightcrawler in the eighth part of the X-Men film series, X-Men: Apocalypse .
